Why this matters

Your brand name is the first word customers associate with your store. A forgettable or hard-to-spell name costs you sales before anyone sees your products. Simple phonetics, easy to type — that's the formula.

1

Brainstorm with AI

  • Don't just ask for names — tell AI to ask YOU questions first so it understands your niche, audience, and vibe
  • Simple phonetics — the name should be easy to pronounce and spell in one go
  • 1-2 words max — short invented words or single-letter combos work best (like Ecom Edge, Lyft, Fiverr)
  • Works with any AI — ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude — the prompt below works everywhere

I want to open a branded dropshipping store in India. Before giving me names, ask me 5 questions about my niche, target audience, and the vibe I want — so you can suggest better names. Rules for the names: - Simple phonetics — easy to pronounce and spell - 1-2 words maximum - Works as a .com or .in domain - Sounds premium and trustworthy - Single-letter words or short invented words are great (like Ecom Edge, Lyft, Fiverr) - No hyphens, no numbers, no generic words like "best" or "shop" After I answer your questions, give me 15 name options grouped by style: brandable, compound, and alternate spelling.
Answer the AI's questions honestly Your niche and audience shape the name. A gadgets store needs a different name than a skincare brand.
Shortlist your top 5 From the AI's suggestions, pick 5 that feel right. Don't overthink — you'll validate them next.

Set the Randomness

  • Low = safe, direct names closely related to your keywords — best starting point
  • Medium = balanced — recognizable but creative, good for second run
  • High = wild, unique names — some won't make sense, but hidden gems appear
  • Start Low, increase on next run — you get very different results each time

How creative do you want the names?
Start with Low. Names clearly relate to your niche. Most beginners find their name here. If nothing clicks, bump it up to Medium next round.
Medium is the sweet spot. Balanced between recognizable and creative. Good if you've tried Low and want more variety.
High gives completely unique names — but some will make no sense. Best if you already have a clear brand direction and want something nobody else has.
5

Add Your Brand Info

  • Keywords field — 2-3 words about your niche ("gadgets store", "skincare India")
  • Description field — one sentence about your store's vibe and positioning
  • Better input = better output — the more specific you are, the more relevant the names
Namelix — brand info input

Keywords example "Dropshipping store" or "premium gadgets" or "beauty India" — keep it tight, 2-3 words.
Description example "A premium, trustworthy e-commerce destination for everyday products." This guides the AI's tone.

Don't spend more than 20 minutes Naming is important but it's not your product. A good-enough name with a great store beats a perfect name with no store. Set a timer, decide, move on.

Name Checklist

The phone test. Say the name to a friend. If they can type it correctly without asking you to spell it — it passes.
Shorter names are easier to remember, fit better in logos, and look cleaner as a domain. "Attrangi Gadgets" works. "Best Premium Gadgets Store India" doesn't.
Check before you commit. If taken, try alternate spellings or go with .in for India-only stores.
Read it out loud. Does it sound like a brand you'd buy from? Smooth, clean names feel premium. Harsh sounds or weird combos feel cheap.
